Coaches are ALWAYS looking for someone who's willing to work HARD and willing to improve. they want to see if you have potential; you don't necessarily have to be super-great the first time around (though it does help to practice beforehand). Try doing shooting drills, such as around the world or knock-out... this gives you a taste of the competetive atmosphere in real games. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make the team without knowing how to dribble with your left AND right hand without looking up. Stamina is KEY. Run, run, and RUN. Basketball is a game which requires a ton of energy, and generally coaches will check to see if you can withstand running a few laps without losing too much energy. Also, keep a positive, team friendly, attitude. If you don't make the team, stay positive and think about training and planning for next year's tryouts. The coach will DEFINITELY notice your willingness to make changes and improve for his team, and it will make him/her feel proud to have someone who wants to be on THEIR team so badly.
Go to your caoch for school and ask to join the team. If you are not a kid well, I am not exactly sure how to do that. Make sure to practice whatever position you want to play. If you are tall try forward( that's what I play and it us awesome), if you arent the biggest person on the team and fast and can dribble really well try out for guard or point guard. It really all depends on what you like to do! Have fun and I hope this was usefull
You can make your own bball team by bringing together a bunch of players (same gender if you actually want to compete in a league) at the same age group 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade and so on. A regulation bball team needs at least 5 players to compete, but I would recomend having at least 7 players and at most 11 or 12. Next, figure out what leagues are in your area by searching up your town's name basketball leagues. See when registration is and sign up a team.
