Nothing, this is completely legal.
yes, three is the limit though. (bump, pass, spike)
each team is allowed three hits on their side, not including the block
3 hits to try and hit the ball over the net
Volleyball coaches need to be able to know a lot.You need to know ALL of the different hits that are illegal and legal hits to do in an actual volleyball game. You need to know different formations in volleyball. Especially important for high school coaches to be able to identify different plays and formations. You need to be able to know how to do practice drills and how to get the practice drills incorporated with the actual volleyball skill. Those are the most important things a coach need to know. There are many more things out there though.
Illegal hits in volleyball: -Catching or holding the ball -Hitting the ball underhand with open palms -Throwing the ball -Changing the direction of the ball There is also a thing called a double hit, which is generally called on for setters, when the ball hits their hands at a slightly different time while setting the ball. However, double hits are legal on a team's first hit, but not on subsequent hits. Also, contacting the ball with any part below the waist is now considered legal.
Your team has 3 tries to get the ball over the net. If you get it over in 4, it's not considered legal. But you can get it over in 2, or 1.
Never.
