Most teams practice all during the school year, many coaches have requirements for summer breaks as well. There are colleges that have indoor facilities and practice before snow leaves the ground, but some are restricted to after the spring thaw, the one I am familiar with actually shoveled snow off the field so they could practice.

Once you are a signed player, practice is pretty much every day, rain or shine, 6 days a week, 4 hours or more a day.

NCAA and NAIA have set rules regarding organized practices. There are slight differences between the 2 but the basics are the teams are allowed 4 weeks of practice in the fall and start back in late January continuing through the season.

College softball season is usually about three months in length. This includes the months March, April, May, and sometimes part of June.

It really depends on the team. The average number of tournaments played in the summer is about 6-9. That lasts almost all of summer. :)
