The Green Monster (often known simply as The Monster or The Wall) is the nickname of the 37-foot, two-inch (11.3 m) left field wall at Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

The wall is the highest among Major League Baseball fields, and is the second highest among all professional baseball fields (including minor leagues), falling approximately six inches short of the left field wall, the "Arch Nemesis", at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York, PA. The York wall, however, is smaller horizontally, making the Monster's approximately 9000 sq. ft. area significantly larger than the "Arch Nemesis".

The Green Monster is the left field fence in Boston's Fenway Park. Because the park was built between city streets, the left field wall is closer to home plate than it is in other parks. To compensate, the left field fence was built quite high. This only partially compensates, and it's still generally easier to hit home runs to left in Fenway than in other parks.
