My advice is to get a job with the team, preferably in which you are physically in their presence....for example a dancer, game crew, equipment team and secondly, attend their parties. There is always a party going on especially when the away teams come into town. Find out who the promoter is in your area that is responsible for holding NBA parties. You've got to stand out in the crowd as other women there have the same intention. Your appearance and attitude has to be on point. Good Luck!
There are many, many steps. First, you have to be at least 19 years old or have played one year in college- that is the NBA rule. Second, you have to have talent that is recognized by NBA scouts or someone that works for the NBA.
The best way is to have played on a high school team and dominated. You will get local scholarships from local colleges (or great Basketball colleges if you are that good) and will need to be in a Division I college (most that offer scholarships are). You will then need to dominate or do very well in college in order to enter the NBA draft and be drafted in one of the 60 spots. Then, only the, you can play in the NBA.
To meet a professional basketball player, the best thing to do is to show up 2 hours early. They are often just shooting around and willing to sign Autographs at that time. You can also look out for their "meet and greet" events, which should be available on the team website.
Faster to go to basketball player than pro football player. Sorry to everyone who is trying to make it to pro football.
