start with a static hit first: your hands should be near the top of the stick and together. Make sure you leading foot (left foot) is about in line with the ball and it is not too close to your body but not too far away either. Take your stick back so it is just above horizontal. Then don't take your eyes off the ball and then hit the ball. follow through with your stick so it points where you want it to go( be careful no-one is in front of you!)
Then when you are confident with this: Push the ball not too far but you will know how far to push it after you try the next step.
Say this in your head step, cross, step.( take a step with your left foot, then cross your feet, then step again with your left foot.) The last step should put you in line with the ball at the right distance from you. Then hit the ball as before.
hope this helps=)

field hockey
Turf hockey is field hockey.
It means nothing in field hockey.
To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a slide in field hockey.
field hockey
It is a mixture of field hockey's rules and lacrosses rules.
you go to the center of the field and put the ball there and then you hit each others sticks 2 times and the off you go!
Field hockey is a whole year sport in most countries; the offseason is usually the summer, when many players play the easier form of summer hockey (rule alterations include not being allowed to raise or hit the ball, playing on a halfsize field, less players, etc.).
