In Soccer are penalties and NFL
18 penalties
Depends on how many infractions are committed by players/teams during the game!
Penalties ensure that players (and sometimes coaches) have a clean and safe football game.
A player can take as many 2 minute minor penalties or 5 min major fighting penalties as the coach will allow. Misconduct penalties are 10min penalties and like the first two types the player can take multiple and still stay in the game. If the coach allows. One match penalty or one game misconduct penalty and the player is out of the game and must immediately go to the dressing room until the end of the game.
Aaron Rodgers had four penalties in 2012. He had 3 Delay of Game and 1 Illegal Forward Pass flags thrown his way.

As of my last update in October 2023, the quarterback with the most delay of game penalties in NFL history is Tom Brady. Throughout his long career, he has accumulated a significant number of these penalties, often attributed to his meticulous approach to the game and the complexity of his offensive schemes. While delay of game penalties can be frustrating, they are also a common occurrence in high-pressure situations.
In the NHL, penalties are classified into various categories, including minor penalties (two minutes), major penalties (five minutes), misconduct penalties (ten minutes), and game misconducts. Minor penalties usually result from less severe infractions like tripping or hooking, while major penalties are for more serious offenses such as fighting. Misconduct penalties do not necessarily involve a specific infraction but are issued for unsportsmanlike behavior. The cumulative effect of these penalties can lead to power plays for the opposing team, significantly impacting the game's outcome.
