This is being asked as we have one set of parents upset with a game that was played to get in the grand finial, there was one girl that had two halfs off, as she is the weakest player and we want to win, ( we won the game which means we are in the grandfinal) but I am concerned that her parents are going to take there 2 kids out and another player which is the reserve which leaves us with 5 players From a concerned assistant coach
The difference between basketball and netball is that in basketball you can take more than 2 steps and dribble up the court, but in netball the most amount of steps you can take is 2 and you are put in certain positions. Another difference is that netball is played in thirds and basketball in halves.
5 players for each team.
10 players, 5 on each team.
When the netball player wants to
No you are not allowed to wear jewellery whilst playing neball. The umpire must also check the players for jewellery before they take to the court. If you wish you may play with a medical alert braclet or wedding ring, but they MUST be taped. Wearing jewellery is a hazard to yourself and other players when playing netball. I don't think so but its probably not a good idea anyway. NO you cannot wear jewellery playing netball its is a safety hazard and can hurt you and people playing on court Yes that's true, you can not wear jewellery while playing netball or training for that matter because you can hurt yourself and/or people playing with you. It may be called a non-contact sport but there is a lot of contact. You have to have your nails short, so when you look at the palm of your hand you cant see your nails at the end of your fingers. if you wear sleeper earings people's fingers can get caught

A netball net is the material hanging from the ring on some (mainly indoor) courts. It is similar to the net on a basketball hoop and is where the ball goes through when one of the shooters shoots a goal.
the sort of physical movements that take place are stop and start. the jumping in areas, that are unexpected, and the dodging are the movements that centers, usually play with/do.resource: i play netball and am a center.
Prior to a game of netball, there will be a toss. The winners of the toss will usually take the centre throw. A game of netball then starts when the winning team's centre (C) has stepped into the circle and thrown the netball. Also all players must be in the correct positions and no feel in the semi circle or into the middle third, except for the centers(c)
Space is crucial in netball. If the space is clogged up, you struggle to make successful leads, and it is easy for the defending tem to take intercepts. Attacking shooters will often set screens, this stops the defending from being able to contect the ball and allows the shooter to move in the space. This helps to open up the court. A specific style of defence to cut up the space is called a zone. Instead of defending on the player, you defend the space. This is to try and force the attacking team to throw across court and high balls, it is then easy for the defending team to read the ball and has time to move their feet and take intercepts. New Zealand are wll known for their use of the Zone defence.
