In 1996, at the age of 23, she went to the Olympics which was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. In 2000, she lit the Olympic flame in Sydney, Australia. But she became the first ever Aborignal Commonwealth Games Gold Medal winner, at the age of 16, at the age of 16 at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada.
