if you start out plain you pick out a deck you want. get it gripped up and then your gonna need some hardware and trucks you want for your board. put the trucks on the bottom of the board and fasten the hardware in as well, tighten til you think its perfect. the grab some wheels and bearings put the bearings in the wheels and screw the wheels onto the trucks. when that's finished go hit up the streets on your new board.
its fun and if you want to skate you first get a board and it has to have plastic trucks
in the wheels

a guy who put roller skate trucks on a 2x4 peice of wood
The bolts are the things that hold your trucks to your board
Yes. The bearings are what allows the wheels to mount up firmly but yet spin freely on the axles/trucks.
theyre not "name brand" boards like zero or something but they are basically exactly like one... I had a 1080 board with bad trucks and bad wheels on it... anyway later I bought a nice board with ventura trucks and spitfire wheels and I broke the nose so I replaced it with my 1080 and it works just fine, I can do tricks just as well
long boards have a wider trunk than a skate board so you can ride more and push less
its not the skateboard it it the trucks, bearings, and wheels but name brand boards have better pop and dont break as easy
first you need all the tools as in wheels ,deck trucks and that stuff. you will also need a screw driver and an exacto knife. peel off the grip tape and place it on the deck of your skate board. cut off the extra grip tape from the sides with the exacto knife. you attach the berrings to the wheels and the wheels to your trucks sides. with the screw driver poke holes out of the holes on your deck.use screws to screw a square rubber thing( i dont kno its name) to the holes then screw your trucks on and go skate ! :)
Because it is a board with two wheels and you skate on it.Freakin retard
