If you are talking about demi pointe shoes (otherwise known at soft blocks) your teacher may recommend you to wear them. I recently got my demi pointe shoes and have been taking ballet classes for just over a year (now at grade 4). Mine were very uncomfortable at first, but you just have to break them in, just like you would for a regular pointe shoe. If in any doubt talk to you ballet teacher, they could give you some advice about whether you should need soft blocks. Also if you are taking RAD intermediate exams, I believe it is compulsory to have demi pointe shoes. Not completely sure though, i would double check. Good luck and hope this was some help to you:)
Yes
The official Ballet uniform depends on the style of ballet that you are learning also the age catergory that you fit in ( as in the grade you are learning ). Royal Academy of Dance Pre - primary and Primary ( girls) students usually have a basic leotard either V front or round neck with a shear hail spot skirt , fold down socks and leather ballet shoes From grade one Students are are required to wear the above ( exept the hail skirt) but also have a Charater skirt and Karacter ( yes they are spelt like that) shoes . This is for dance moves that are learnt from Hungary or Russia From Grade two onwards the students require the same as above but wear stockings aswell. In the senior years the Girls are also required to wear a 3/4 length shear skirt for the main ballet work. As the girls progress and the teacher sees the progression in muscle development and technique then they may suggest it time for the student to purchase a pair of pointe shoes. Boys in ballet are required to wear a fitted white shirt/tank top and black or navy shorts or leggins with socks and ballet shoes Males are able to wear a fitted tank top or shirt with leggins , socks and ballet shoes. In RAD ( Royal Academy of Dance) you can go up to grade eight. In saying this it is extremely different than going to school , as in, if you are in yr4 at school you technically wouldn't be in grade four in Ballet because of the skills required are quite demanding. After this you make the choice of where you would like to head with perhaps a career in dance. Whether it be professional or it be a teaching line depends on how dedicated you are. Danced for 27 years , teaching for 16 years of Royal Academy of Dance Western Australia
Well, it depends on whether you're doing RAD or ISTD or any other grading systems. I am 13 too and I am currently doing grade 7 RAD which is quite challenging. I would probably start at RAD grade 5, as 6, 7 and 8 are much more complicated. XD
you can buy it from the dance shop 'BLOCH'. you can also get a copy of the DVD there too. =]
kind of.. demi point shoes are to make your feet stronger.. iv been on pointe for a while now, and my RAD teacher has just suggested that i purchase a pair of demi pointes (or soft blocks) i have strong feet, but this is what she explained to me: professional dancers dance on pointe.. so why do we dance all these years on flats or split soles? she says that professionals almost never dance on stage with flats, so in order to train our feet and not put them in total pain with pointe shoes.. we wear demi pointes.

If it was it would be totally rad!
Supra! Justin Bieber and Christian Beadles both wear the same shoe brand. They get them from Factory 413, which is only in California. Christian gets the newest pair shipped out to Atlanta every time:) Factory 413 only sells 2 brands... Supra and Krew. The shop is for guys only:( But, they do have some pretty rad shoes!
I am not certain, but I am pretty sure you would wear a black leotard. Do not rely on this, as I would hate for you to wear the wrong thing to your exam. Be sure to check with a certified RAD instructor!! Best if luck on your exam!

rad 12 - 3 rad 3rad 12 = rad(4*3) = rad (4) * rad(3) = 2 rad 32 rad 3 - 3 rad 3= - rad 3
Its not an actual 'grade', but more of how well you can deliever the technique. Performance experience and versitility are important to be considered and experienced dancer. In RAD its probably Advanced or Solo Seal.
