Well, it depends on whether you're doing RAD or ISTD or any other grading systems. I am 13 too and I am currently doing grade 7 RAD which is quite challenging. I would probably start at RAD grade 5, as 6, 7 and 8 are much more complicated.
XD
Elementary ballet is a grade in ballet, It ranges from Pre-primary, primary, grade 1 , Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5. They are the Junior years. Then it goes Pre-Elementary/Intermediate foundation, Elementary/Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced Foundation 1, Advanced Foundation 2. These are the senior years.
It is vital that the bones in your feet are not still too soft when you begin pointework, so a child should not begin ideally until she is at least 11 years old. This is, of course, providing you are of a suitable standard (Grade 5+) or have been doing ballet for several years. The best thing to do is talk to an pointe-shoe fitter in a ballet shop, as they should be trained in this area and will know what is best for your feet in particular.
Ballet was originated many years ago. Most of the steps in ballet today are said in french, so I would say that ballet is french.
Ballet dates back hundreds of years to French and Italian courts, and there is not exact date on which ballet begun.

I felt the exact same at your age!! I'm only a few years older now (I'm in grade 5), but I realized that it probably wasn't possible for me..... It really depends on your body type and your training. I found out that my hips and feet weren't as flexible as they should be. If you get into a vocational ballet school you might have a better chance but still it is extremely hard to get into any ballet company, let alone the Royal Ballet because it is one of the biggest companies in the world! Keep practising, work hard, do as much classes as you can and never ever give up! Best of Luck following your dream! :D
It is about people who are trapped in there classroom because it has been raining for seven years on the plant venus the havent seen the sun for seven years
"I've been studying ballet for ten years now." "Do you dance? What type of dance? Jazz or Ballet?" Ballet is a noun.
she is 10 years old now, so she should be in the 5th grade, but she is home-schooled!! :)

You can start learning ballet at any time. If you start too young, you could get into bad habits, and the Ropyal Ballet School says you should start around 6-7 years of age. You go down to the locakl ballet school, and if you are amazing, auditionj for the Royal Ballet School. Also, go for their Summer School. You learn LOADS, and it is amazing there!!
If you are in 7th grade (2016), you will graduate in 5 years (2021). You should be around 18 or even 19 years old by then.
2 years of ballet is not enough practice. I have been taking ballet for 9 years and am still not ready. It also depends on your growth plate and how strong your ankles are.
