Capezios are great shoes for wide feet, but they are also good for narrow feet! Blochs are also good! I have Capezio Arias, and they are almost perfect. They have one small problem though. Go to the site that I posted below and go to the discussion page to see what's wrong with my Capezios.

That's probably the only problem! (:

Can you do pointe with demi pointe shoes?

It is physically possible...BUT... do not do it. It can break toes, feet, and possibly mess up tendens and muscles in the process. It also hurts. If you want to go onto pointe then you need to buy a real pair of pointe shoes. They are usually cheaper online. NO! DO NOT TRY THIS! This can break your feet. Demi pointe shoes are for demi pointe. Pointe shoes are for pointe. ANSWER 2 Hi, Demi-pointe shoes are used so that you can experience the sensations of pointe shoes without going on pointe. THEY ARE NOT FOR GOING ON POINTE IN! If you are only wearing demi-pointe shoes then your instructor obviously does not feel you ankles are strong enough for pointe work yet. If you do this then you face the chance of never being able to go on pointe because you have damaged you feet. So stick to demi pointe shoes for demi pointe and wait a while until your ankles are strong enough to go on pointe! PS you should never go on pointe before you are 12 as research has shown that the joints etc. in your feet have not fully developed!

Why does it hurt when you wear pointe shoes?

When your on pointe it shouldn't hurt if your feet are strong enough. It could be A: your feet aren't strong enough B: your pointe shoe isn't fitted correct Of course, if you mean pointED shoes it's because the shoe is crushing your toes together.

When do you get point shoes?

You get pointe shoes when your muscles (especially those in your feet and ankles) are strong enough to support you en pointe, or when your teacher says you may, which usually means that you ARE strong enough. Going en pointe too early may cause serious injuries.

What age do you get your pointe shoes?

When you get your pointe shoes depends on when your feet have matured enough. This does not usually happen before age twelve. Also, your muscles have to be strong enough to support you when your body is balancing just on your toes. The average age for getting pointe shoes is around 12.

Why do ballerinas wear pointe shoes?

Pointe shoes is when a ballerina's foot is strong enough to wear them, they wear them to advance in ballet and to have the part of lifting off the ground as of being closest to flying. Not all ballerinas wear pointe shoes; some wear slippers (demi-pointe shoes), either because they are not strong enough, or because they have high of arches on their feet so it would not be safe for them. With hard work and practice a ballerina's foot can become strong enough at a time when they can go on pointe

Is the RAD demi pointe shoes for pointe work?

kind of.. demi point shoes are to make your feet stronger.. iv been on pointe for a while now, and my RAD teacher has just suggested that i purchase a pair of demi pointes (or soft blocks) i have strong feet, but this is what she explained to me: professional dancers dance on pointe.. so why do we dance all these years on flats or split soles? she says that professionals almost never dance on stage with flats, so in order to train our feet and not put them in total pain with pointe shoes.. we wear demi pointes.

Are your feet supposed to hurt in pointe shoes?

in the beginning, yes, your feet will hurt, but once you have broken in your pointe shoes they will start feeling like a second skin, and you will be able to practice and do pointe exercises more fluently and more easily.

You can start pointe when your dance teacher thinks your feet are strong enough ;)

When were ballet pointe shoes invented?

Pointe shoes were invented when Marie Taglioni in about 1824. she was the first person to attempt pointework gracefully instead of an acrobatic stunt, along with ungraceful arm movements. She darned her soft slippers to make a little bit of support for her feet, but it provided not even a fraction of support that modern pointe shoes do. She didn't use wires like other "pointe" dancers, and her feet were extremely strong. The pointe shoe later evolved to use hardened paste and a box instead of darned soft slippers.
