Which pointe shoes are best for intermediate dancers with a high arch but can't get over all the way on to pointe?

I would always recommend Freed. Freed Studios are great for class, they help develop strong feet. If you can't get all the way over, you need to do some feet strengthening exercises. Also stretch your arches. Look into 3/4 shank shoes for performances.

As you may see (if you have seen them) a standard ballet shoe is rounded, and used by dancers that are trying to achieve stronger muscles in there feet. Why are pointe shoes painful?
they are...until you get used to them. practice on them and your feet will harden and get strong and will fell used to them. you've got to break into them and get them loose. thts how ballet dancers don't make a loud thump when the jump and land on pointe shoes. practice in them for 20 mins each day and stretch them with your hands. always make sure you feet are nice and relax and don't have any sores or blisters on them before you go on pointe. also don't go on them if your toenails are too long,,, now thts painful! make sure your pointe shoe is fitted well and doesnt hurt you incips of the arch of your foot ......:)
