it depends on how old the child it and how developed his boy parts are. Since a leotard is made of a relatively thin material and either two or four way stretch it will be form fitting. the material feels amazing against the skin and has been known to cause unintentional excitement in older boys so you can imagine the problems that can arise (no pun intended). So before a young boy reaches “that” age, a it seems to get younger and younge, he should get used to wearing an undergarment called a dance belt. But, Yes he can as long as he wears tights over his leotard and he is too young to get excited..
not really, especially without shorts on
The leotard is more put together and classical and the leotard helps the dancer do some dance moves that were not possible in a tshirt and shorts.
In ballet and in gymnastics it was required when i took them to wear a leotard.
Yes, but it is not recommended. Male dancers wear leotards, so you might want to check with a store that sells leotards for men. Male leotards are made differently than women's leotards, and would fit them correctly.
well no just a leotard
you can wear any tight! shorts, t shirt....
Little boys tend to wear nylon lycra or cotton shorts or lycra cycle shorts over top their leotards. However at 4 years old there is no reason why he couldn't wear the leotard on its own. However my little boy finds it more comfortable to wear a zone lycra leotard with no undies underneath and then lycra shorts over the top to hide any embarasing wedgies from his leotard ... A boys leotard is just like a looks just like a girls leotard. The only difference is that it is lower cut on the leg.

The answer to that is pretty simple, since I were a leotard every week. All you have to do is just wear gym shorts over them. They have to be a certain kind of shorts. Not the kind you usually see in stores.
At my club when we train we mostly wear sleveless leotards and shorts or with a t-shirt over this. When competiting we wear leotards like gymnasts, we basically wear the same things as gymnasts.

It just looks like regular pants.
Yes, But male gymnasts typically wear shorts over their leotard
A leotard. They sell them at the gymnastics place. I do not recommend a sports bra and shorts because if you are doing back flips, the coach has nothing to hold on to. If you can't afford a leotard, then shorts and t- shirt is fine.
if your practicing at home you wear what ever your comfortable in, i recomand wearing shorts tho. if you go to the stodio, follow the dress code, and at the same time you have to look cute, and makesure you wont get to hot. for example, when i was 2-3 years i wore a leotard with tights and sometimes a skirt, 3-5 years i wore tights shorts and a leotard or a tank top, 6-8 years i wore tights fluffy shorts and a sport bra that was fluffy too, 8-12 years i wear tights shorts and sport bras, if you do bell-a i do not suggest you wear shorts and bras. i suggest leotard and skirts
do emo boy wear shorts?? Er... If they want to then sure..... Anyone can wear shorts if they want to... =P
For cheer you can wear spankies sports bra shirt and shorts and for gymnastics you wear a leotard which you could probably find at target or on a gymnastics website or they might have a gymnastics leotard you could buy and theres always eBay
