Is twirling a sport? Didnt think so
As an ENGLISH majorette myself, I think it is. It has all the elements of a sport: competitive (I have a big nationals competition this weekend), physical endurance, coordination, practise and skill. There is a big difference between English and American majorettes. English are groups which are done out of school time as a hobby, nothing to do with school, and American are usually high school majorettes. There are many people that take majorettes/baton twirling seriously: Hollie Neilson is a good example. She is an absolute legend to majorettes/baton twirling. Many people have different opinions on whether it is a sport or not, and personally I think it is.
I don't know what fire twirling is but I think that you need a permit because the people don't appreciate you, well, twirling fire right in their faces.
I think it is so popular because, there are so many moves.WHAT DO YOU THINK OF TWIRLING?I think it is fun and dangerous.
