Mistakes are often to do with concentration e.g. taking your eyes of the ball, not watching the opposing team. Most players practise in a loud and noisey environment that has got a lots of distractions so that they are used to blocking out noises and distractions when it comes to playing in a tournament or in front of a crowd.
When the sportsman is not concentrating whilst performing then their balance of the game is off. That means their not putting their all in to the game.
