It's somewhere between a sport and a game. Quoits involves the throwing of metal, rope or rubber rings over a set distance, usually to land over or near a spike. The game/sport of "horseshoes" is somewhat related.
Jump rope is not just a childrens' playgroung game. It ISa sport. There are even jump rope teams that do lots of cool, fun stuff. Somethimes they even perform for people around their state, the country, or even the world! Expert jump ropers can do really sick, awesome tricks too! Believe it or not, jump rope really is a sport. Anyone who disagrees is misinformed. I have jumped rope competitively for three years and I have participated in many competitions. If you do not believe me, look up USA Jump Rope or AAU jump rope.
