Under the Grand National Archery Society Rules (Governing Body for the UK):
100 yards for men and 80 yards for ladies. Other distances standard for both sexes are 60 yards, 50 yards, 40 yards, 20 yards and 10 yards, juniors shoot the shorter distances relative to their age group.
FITA distances (International):
90mtrs for men and 70mtrs for ladies. The other distances standard for both sexes are 50 meters and 30 meters. In competition, after the men have shot 90mtrs they then shoot 70mtrs, the ladies (on separate targets) after shooting 70mtrs will shoot 60mtrs, both men and women will then shoot 50mtrs / 30mtrs. Men and women do not shoot on the same targets in this type of competition.
Competition Bows are usually available in auctions and tend to go for a higher price than hunting bows. I think most traditional shooter will benefit from shooting a competition bow in the off season. It is very relaxing and the training will help when 3D or hunting season rolls around. Shakespeare produced excellent competition and target bows. The Titan X 15 introduced in 1969, it is very similar to the Professional but did not have stabilizer or sights and is a good mid-priced bow. In 1969 The Supreme X16 was also introduced. It was the entry level tournament bow and was 66 inch AMO but had many of the characters of the Titan and Professional.
There aren't many types of bows, however there are many custom made bows which highly differ from the standard modern bows. The most common types are Short Bows and Long Bows as well as Cross Bows. The strongest ones of course are Cross Bows, as these are powered automatically, whereas in the other two you have to physically pull the arrow.
Recurve bows.
They are made of wood. All the bows are made of a specific wood but of course it is different for different bows.
The safety guideline for using bows that is unique to the crossbow is that both the rules for firearms and bows must be followed. Crossbows are much more dangerous than bows and just as dangerous as a firearm.
4 feet
While arrow may travel a significant distance (maybe several hundred yards if fired at an upwards angle), most hunting bows only deliver sufficient power to ensure a clean and humane kill for approx 35-50 yards depending on the bow, arrow, conditions, target animal, and shooter.

You can buy them at Claires, Forever 21, Kholes, Walmart, Target or you can make your own.
Pull bows are available online from gift packaging websites like Creative Gift Packaging and Nashville Wraps, or from retail stores like The Container Store and Target.
Men are the ones most seen with guns and heavy weapons because they are more insistent and harsh, women however are most often portrayed as less obvious. Bows and arrows are more traditional.
it depends on what kind of bow you have, there are traditional bows which don't have cams(little wheels on the end) and there are compounds which do have wheels
5 large bows.
Traditional archery to most is the use of a bow without mechanical aids. Aids being wheels to let off weight, sights, stabilizers, etc. To some, it is using nothing that is not self made. Longbows, recurves, and self bows are form of traditonal bows. Some trad archers use cedar, birch, rivercane, or bamboo arrows.
Theres no need to go to a store in a mall. You might want to try a local corner store or target.
Some very popular brands of archery bows include Hoyts, Mathews, and PSE. Brands like Hoyts and PSE are generally good for target shooting whereas all three brands are well-known as hunting brands.
