Water Polo is often compared to soccer because of the similar field set-up, with two goals, each at opposing ends of the pool. The main difference between water polo and soccer, besides that fact that water polo is played in the water, is the fact that you use your hands. Water polo is also compared to Basketball a lot. The plays are similar, and there are many other similar aspects, such as the large amount of fast-breaks.
but also in 1860's its kinda related to football but later on the years it change its way

Water polo is usually played in 4 quarters of 7 minutes each therefore there is 28 minutes of playing time however the clock stops every time the ball goes out of play or there is a foul resulting in an actual game taking a lot longer, usually around an hour
The game of water polo was 1st played in the USA in 1888. It featured the old rugby style of play which looked like American football in the water. "American style" water polo became very popular and by the late 1890's was played in such places as Madison Square Garden and Boston's Mechanics Hall, attracting 14,000 spectators to the big national championship games.
Football is #1. Basketball, handball, and water polo are also very popular.
any where where theres cool people jk, so like mostly California
Water polo games are divided into four quarters. The length of each quarter depends on the level: FINA Water Polo World League, Olympic and US College water polo games consist of 8 minutes per quarter, so 36 minutes of game time. US high school games vary, with varsity games consisting of 7 minutes per quarter, junior varsity games 6 minutes per quarter and freshman/sophomore games 5 minutes per quarter, so 28, 24 or 20 minutes of game time. When the ball is not being played (between a foul and free throw or between a goal and restart), the clock is stopped, so in reality an average quarter lasts a lot longer (usually between twice to three times the actual playing time) than the times above.
