As in many British colonies, the settlers from Great Britain took the game of football with them to NZ and played under many different rules in the early and mid-19th century. Eventually the rules became more uniform and it is the Rugby code that became most popular throughout NZ by the end of the century. It has been the dominant football code ever since.
Rugby football was first introduced to New Zealand in 1870 by Charles John Monro, son of the then-Speaker of the House of Representatives, David Monro. He encountered the game while studying at Christ's College Finchley, in East Finchley, London, England, and on his return introduced the game to Nelson College, who played the first rugby union match against Nelson football club on 14 May 1870. However, there are records that the Māoris were playing a ball game called ki-o-rahi which resembled Australian Rules Football prior to this.
There are only game pass codes in select Disney products.

William Web Ellis didnt actually get an idea for the game of Rugby . In 1823 when Ellis was in Rugby School Warwickshire England they player football there (soccer) . The rules were very few but it did allow the ball to be handled but the ball carrier had to run backward toward their own players to pass the ball. Ellis during one game decided that he would not follow this rule and when he picked up the ball ran FORWARD toward the opposing teams goals. This idea caught on in the school and as the students left they carried on handling the ball but then passed it backward to fellow players (as we see in today's game) When the game progressed throughout the universities the Rugby Students continues to use the ball carrying concept. Eventually the football Association decided that handling would not be allowed (as we see in soccer today) But those who liked this game decided not to join the Associated but to set up their own UNION this becamee The Rugby Football Union and remains so today.
A rugby ball is shaped like an oval, with pointed ends. It is designed this way to make it easier to carry and pass during the game.
The game of football (soccer) was originally a mix of rugby and soccer as we know today. However, in 1870 ther was a move to formalise the game which then was called football. The rules of the game allowed the ball to be handled and carried to the rear of the ball carrier to pass but the events of web elllis running forward carrying the ball (which really wasnt in the rules) became the new way of playing. Added to this "hacking" (the kicking of the legs from beneath the ball carrier) was also allow. In the new step up handling and hacking became against the rules and teh Football Association was created - Supportes of te ball carrying game split and formed the Rugby football union. The game of American football can be traced (in the same line as rugby and football/soccer) back to Atherstone Shrovetide Game, dating back to 1199 and the Eton Wall Game All of which were UK based. The games were in basic a rough free for all where teams were not equal and frequently had 100 people on the field of play.
it is impossible but everyone keeps saying up 2 down 3 which is impossible throughout the game
Rugby is a team sport kind of like American football and soccer, but there are no pads and you can only pass backwards. Union has 15 players and League has 13 players i think! Rugby you are split into Forward and Backs. Forwards do almost all the tackling and rucking where as the backs do a lot of the running and scoring.
