It depends on the definition of hard: From an impact standpoint: Football From an endurance standpoint: Rugby From a "learning the rules" standpoint: Football From a "taking a cheap shot" standpoint: Rugby.
I'll have to say scoring a try in rugby is harder.
My reason is:
Firstly in rugby we HAVE to pass behind. In soccer we can pass anywhere.
In rugby you can use your whole body to tackle someone. In soccer that would be counted as a red card, and not only that but, the player that got tackled might get an injury.
I disagree actually. Statistics show that per game, more Rugby league trys are scored that football goals.

you score a try in rugby
Score. There are two major ways to score, a goal or a try. Historically, a try only afforded you the opportunity to 'try' to score a goal. The historic origins of both rugby union and association football are the same however they have both evolved in different ways.
Polo and rugby are two different sports, but both involve maneuvering the ball into a goal to score points. Polo is played on horseback and requires hitting the ball with a long-handled hammer. Rugby is similar to American football and requires the players to cross a goal line with the ball in their hands.
to score points
Football is older. Rugby was developed by Webb Ellis as a result from him picking up the ball and putting it in the goal with his hands
Yes. The goalkeeper is normally number 1 on a Gaelic Football team. A goalkeeper is essential as it is possible to score a goal, like in soccer. This is worth 3 points. A score can also be got by kicking the ball over the goal and between the two posts, like in rugby. This is worth 1 point.

you get a touchdown. Or you get a field goal or a safety.
Soccer is where a team will kick a ball to get it into the goal at the end of the feild. Rugby is like football but without any pads.
the big point in football is to score a goal and attack the other team
a sport where you try and aim for the goal posts and score points to win and climb up the rugby league/union board and become first!
