Seasoned riders can pick a faster line just by looking at the track and conditions but not everyone has that ability. The best way to pick a fast line through corners is to watch races prior to your own and see who comes out on top consistently via which line in and out of a corner. The real trick is for a rider to have the ability to take a line that is not the optimum one and still come out on top. As when having to pass the rider usually cannot take the best line as then they would just be following. Really top riders can actually make their own line when one is not apparent. It is all just skill and learning
