Almost.
In 1999, two drivers died at New Hampshire International Speedway during test sessions. The drivers threatened to not run the 2000 Dura-Lube 300 unless Something Was Done...so NASCAR got out the restrictor plates.
The front row was Bobby Labonte and Jeff Burton. At New Hampshire the flag stand is in the middle of the front stretch. Jeff Burton caught and passed Labonte before Turn 1, then led the entire rest of the race. It was the most boring race I've ever seen.
To be an official Nascar race, the drivers must complete 100 of 200 laps. Once lap 101 begins, it's an official race.
Unless there is a green-white-checkered finish, the Nascar Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is scheduled for 267 laps (400.5 miles). The Nationwide Series race is 200 laps (300 miles) and the Camping World Truck Series race is 146 laps (219 miles).

2011 Coca-Cola 600 402 laps and 603 miles, was the longest race in NASCAR history.
The number of laps in a NASCAR race varies depending on the size of the track, and the distance raced. It will usually say something about it in the name of the race. For example, the Daytona 500 is 500 miles. They race 200 laps. Click on the link below for more information on different Nascar tracks.

Ned Jarrett (that's it?)
The Nascar driver who started the race, gets the points and the credit for the win. It doesn't matter who finished the race for them.
It is because, when formula one first started, so that they could see who was in the lead, they connected a mirror to a pole, so they see who was in the lead. this lead to the saying "pole position" Harry Grant
I believe it was Richard Petty. He came from 7 laps. I am not sure what race it was. But I believe it was in the 50's or the 60's.
The best NASCAR driver is Dylan Taylor
