In 2008 when Rangers went to Manchester for the uefa cup final people were phoning into Sky Sports asking how there was 200,000 Rangers fans which led them to put up an opts stats list of the most supported clubs in the world.
It read:
1. Man utd
2. Real Madrid
3. Barcelona
4. Celtic
5. Rangers
World Wide it would be Celtic I would have to agree, mainly because of the world wide support Celtic has from the Irish who have emigrated and second, third and fourth generation who would align themselves with anything Irish. With Man Utd you have a much more shallow bunch, Celtic is more than just a club. This is complete bollocks Manchester united is supported by 5% of the worlds population (320 million), where as Celtic is supported by 0.0015 (9,000,000) of the worlds population. FACT Celtic have more real fans I am not talking about all the many women, children and cling-ons who align themselves with United I would consider them shallow, as I said Celtic are more than just a club
Celtic are rich...Rangers are bust...simples
Celtic and Rangers football clubs.
Johnny Doyle. He was electric.
Both clubs are definetley in the top 5 most supported clubs in britain, With the old firm unforchantly has a religious aspect to it, and scotland is a mainly preotestant country Rangers have the biggest support also rangers have a big following from over in ulster with 50 buses running reguarly to the games. Celtic on the other hand have a big support in ireland and big in scotland too, as ave said rangers probably do have a bigger support but celtic are known more worldwide.
Celtic and Rangers? They're the obvious two.

There are no footballers who have played for all of these clubs in their career.
Notable Scottish clubs with ties to Catholicism include Celtic F.C., founded by Irish Marist Brother Walfrid to help alleviate poverty among Irish immigrants in Glasgow, and Hibernian F.C., originally founded by Irish immigrants in Edinburgh. These clubs have historical links to the Catholic community in Scotland.
Quite possibly, the most number of cups won in total has been won by Celtic or Rangers in Scotland; no other country has ever experienced an almost total domination of domestic competition by two clubs. To check this, I recommend that you visit the websites of both clubs.
