Lenin went from hiding out in Finland to leading Russia. He came to power after realizing the government was not set up the way he wished it would be. He used Propaganda to help him rise in power.

lenin seized and maintained control by people wanted a better government and liked the idea of lenins Marxist views. the boldheviks simply came and took over control and kicked out the provisonial goverment. He maintained it by restoring the economy, encouraging foreign investments,and making his goverment into a Dictatorship

The Bolsheviks had an easy revolution in 1917, but maintaining support for the Bolshevik(communist) party was more difficult. Lenin quickly set up a dictatorship, after the election of [] the social democratic party had majority, this angered Lenin, so he decided that the elections didn't count and he would still be in power!

the civil war of 1921 attacked his power, but the red army won, but the consequences of the war had brought the country to famine, Lenins leadership faced new problems and he had to look after his people. Lenin suffered two brain hemorrhages (probably due to the bullet lodged in his neck from some assassination attempt, and it ran in the family.) and died in 1926.
