Where did the term eagle come from in golf?
An Eagle shot in Golf is a score of two strokes under par on a
hole. The term came from the phrase an 'eagle's eye' (Eagles are
excellent predators, spotting prey from miles away and capturing
the prey with great precision), so In golf it means a very sharp
and accurate shot.
Once upon a time, Tiger was beside the woods and he hit a high
shot to try and miss the trees. Just at that time, an eagle was
passing by and you know how fast eagles are. Well, this eagle
grabbed Tiger's ball and dropped it on the green. The ball went
into the hole.
