First off don't run the first 100m's fast. Stride until you get to the last 100m's then go faster. That way in a meet you wont burn out and people dont have time to catch up to you. Otherwise your strategy is ok. To break 60 you should probably make your stride faster. At first it will be hard to maintain a faster stride but eventually you'll get there.
