You are in 8th grade and run the 400 you run about 61 to 64 your run hard the 1st 100m then stride it out then use your arms and push you want to break a 60 what are you doing wrong in your strategy?

First off don't run the first 100m's fast. Stride until you get to the last 100m's then go faster. That way in a meet you wont burn out and people dont have time to catch up to you. Otherwise your strategy is ok. To break 60 you should probably make your stride faster. At first it will be hard to maintain a faster stride but eventually you'll get there.
