A good 400 time for a Middle school student would be: 5th grade: 1:13-1:15 6th grade: 1:08-1:09 7th grade: 1:03-1:04 8th grade: under 1 minute

Hello?! we're talking MIDDLE SCHOOL here those are ridiculous times! For boys and girls. Under a minute is insane for an 8th grader! Here are some more reasonable times:

Girls:

6th Grade: 1:16-1:19

7th Grade: 1:12- 1:15

8th Grade: 1:08- 1:05

Boys:

6th Grade: 1:12-1:15

7th Grade: 1:10- 1:08

8th Grade: 1:05- 1:02

I am an 8th grader that has bad Asthma. I still hold the MS record with a time of 1:06:08 for the 400 meter, and another record for the 800 medley. I set that record in 7th grade, and now im in 8th grade I will probably beat it by a lot again, and Im a girl so ya. Plus my asthma is pretty bad.

Dude what do you mean by "record" for your town or your age group? Because i have asthma too and i can run that in like 1:00 flat as an 8th grader.

Im a 8th grader and I run 400m in 1:02 pr I just started running track this year, but my brother is a state champ for the 400m dash.

I am an 8th grader and to win in my district, you will have to run the 400 under a minute. I ran it in 58.2 and got 2nd place in the city meet. My friend won first by running a 56.6 but his fastest was a 55.1; only .7 seconds from the city record! I'm in 8th grade and my best 400 time is 58.3. I'm one of the fastest in my grade but a good time for eighth grade is 1 min or less. I could only get 1.03 in seventh grade so u can get much faster in a year.

I am in 7th grade and 1 minute and 30seconds is considered pratically walking in 400m. The record for a seventh grade 400m run in track is 60sec. flat. I am pretty athletic and can run it pretty darn quickly! I know because we just had a meet today. Those times are ridiculously slow and you should set higher expectations!

Im a seventh grader the first one was the most accurate I had a meet today and I just got my best time 1:03.

Im a sixth grade girl and I run a 1:16. The top girl on our team runs a 1:08, she is in eighth grade. So anything around that range would be good. For boys I think the best is like a minute flat, but the kid who runs that is ridiculously fast. I think a good time for middle school boys would be upper sixties to low seventies. Maybe 66-73.
