They wore a long skirt, very often of light weight wool. This was paired with a "waist" or blouse of cotton, linen or if wealthy , silk. Sturdy shoes with a small heel and a hat. Often the hat was a style adapted from the men's "boater" fashion.

Not 100% sure but think ladies did not play Golf in the early 1900. The reason is because of the origin of the name GOLF. Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden.
