Yes, they can. I am big and I am a level 9. It is a sport that you have to be strong and flexible in, but it is very fun. You just have to work hard and stretch and do things to make you stronger. If people make fun you because they think that because your fat, you can't do something, prove them wrong. Bigger people are fully capable of doing gymnastics.

They most definantly can. It may be a little more difficult for them to stretch though. This sport will also help them get fit and improve their health. Doing backbends might be just 2% more challenging for them to learn though. It will take maybe a few more days to learn stuff.
I'm skinny, and I'm really good at gymnastics. my friend is in the same class as me and shes obese but she's lost a whole lot of weight since then. You might as well go, but since there might be skinny people in the gymnastics class with you, get a friend to take the same class so your not so alone.
There was once a girl in my gymnastics class that was larger than us and we were all a bit shy around her, but when her friend did gymnastics with her, she didnt look as scary, now we're all friends with eachother!

ah, yeah. Many bigger people are great ate gymnastics. Go for it. You loose a ton of body fat if you work hard because of all the excersises. It may even be a good idea to go in with a little bit of belly flab just so when you loose weight, you dont loose the good stuff that you need! I wish you the best of luck. More than likely, if they exercised enough to get really good at gymnastics, they wouldn't be fat any more.
