Just watch where you got hit carefully, and if it begins to swell up, put an ice pack on it for 15-20 minutes, take it back off for 15-20 minutes, and put it back on again for the same amount of time. Hopefully you were wearing padding where you got hit, and if you were supposed to, wear the padding.

Well this is kind of an amateur somewhat childish method but it does work! Just wear some thin-ish winter gloves underneath the hockey gloves.
I am a AAA hockey player, they do not require us to wear hockey shorts, but hockey pants are a neccesity.
