A pitcher can be changed during an at bat as long as that pitcher has pitched a full at bat to at least one batter. A pitcher may not be brought into a game and then taken out before pitching one full at bat unless he suffers an injury which the umpires deem serious enough to require off field attention.
The most one-hitters thrown by a pitcher in a career is 12. Both Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians, and Nolan Ryan, who played with four different teams, hold this record.
Nolan Ryan of the California Angels threw 2 no-hitters during one season which would have been the 1973 season. His first no hitter in 1973 came on May 15, 1973 and it was against the Kansas City Royals. The second no-hitter he pitched came on July 15, 1973 which came against the Detroit Tigers. 1962's Boston team also accomplished the feat of having 2 no hitters in a single season. The first one came on June 26 against Los Angeles, Earl Wilson was responsible for pitching it. The second one came on August 1 and Bill Monbouquette is the one that threw the no-hitter, this time he no-hit Chicago. Detroit's 1952 team also accomplished this feat. Virgil Trucks did the no-hitting on May 15 against Washington and August 25 against New York. New York's 1951 team accomplished the feat as well, with Allie Reynolds throwing both of them. The first came on July 12 against Cleveland and the second one came on September 28 against Boston. The 1917 St. Louis team also accomplished the feat of them throwing 2 no-hitters in a single season. The first one came on May 5. Ernie Koob is the Pitcher that threw no-hit ball against Chicago. The second one came the following day on May 6 and it was also against Chicago however Bob Groom is the Pitcher that threw no-hit ball for that game. Boston's 1916 team accomplished the feat as well, with Rube Foster throwing no-hit ball on June 21 against New York while Dutch Leonard did the same feat on August 30 but it was against St. Louis. Cleveland's 1908 accomplished the feat of throwing 2 no-hitters in a single season, with Dusty Rhoads doing the feat on September 18 against Boston and Addie Joss throwing no-hit ball on October 2 against Chicago. Boston's 1904 team also threw 2 no-hitters in a single season, with Cy Young throwing no-hit ball against Philadelphia on May 5 while Jesse Tannehill threw no-hit ball on August 17 against Chicago.
Number of Balls a Pitcher Can Throw in One InningOn the 16th bal, the original player that was "walked" will cross the home plate. So 15 balls are the most you can throw in one inning. 23 - If the pitcher picks-off 2 of the runners, he can then walk two more batters before pithing 3 balls to the final batter.I think that it could be 24. If the pitcher picks off 2 of the runners after loading the bases as you say. The pitcher walks two more hitters to load the bases. Then the pitcher throws 4 balls to the next hitter but the runner from third fails to touch home plate and on appeal, that runner is called out to end the inning.

1/n, where n is the number of faces on the dice. For example, if they are six sided dice, then the odds will be one in six.
One of the greatest home run hitters of all time was a pitcher. Babe Ruth was a pitcher

6 in 36, or in simplest form 1 in 6. For each number rolled on one die, there are only 6 possibilities for the other.
Yes. However, rules state a pitcher must pitch one complete at bat before being taken out of the game (unless the pitcher gets injured and cannot continue). So, as long as the batter being pitched to is not the first batter the pitcher is facing, the pitcher may be removed in the middle of the count.
Both Bob Feller and Nolan Ryan are tied with 12.
It is called the rubber. Slab is the slang word for the pitcher's rubber. If you were to go to a sporting goods store to buy one, you would ask for a pitcher's rubber.Another answer:The proper name is the pitcher's plate.
According to Baseball Reference, through August 30, 2008 there have been 386,916 MLB games played (this number includes games played in the National Association, the first major league which was in existence from 1871-1875). There have been 257 no hitters of nine innings or more thrown in MLB history. This averages out to one no hitter every 1505.5 games. Interestingly, on 32 occasions, two or more no hitters have been thrown within 10 days of each other. And on two occasions (April 22, 1898 and June 29, 1990) two no hitters were thrown on the same day. Not being a statistical major, I can't really tell you the odds of pitching a no hitter. But, looking at the list of ho hitters pitched, the odds are about 1 in 8 that a second no hitter will be pitched within 10 days of a no hitter. A pitcher can only make one smooth movement with her pitching arm. Any pause after the start of the motion (which is incited by the end of the touch of the throwing hand and the glove) is a balk and all runners advance.
