Answer

The record for bench press at the NFL combine was 51 reps of 225lbs, set by Justin Ernest, (DT), of Eastern Kentucky in 1999.

This was broken in 2013 by powerlifter Mark Henry who broke it with 53 reps.

(Original Answer)

terrell benched 81 times!!

(Supplemental Answer)

Official numbers are difficult to find as he was drafted in 1996. However, there is no chance 81 is accurate. This is probably satirical as Owens dons jersey number 81.

A lineman with excellent strength will typically have 30 to 45 reps, and anything beyond the 45 to 50 range is a tremendous feat and of which one rarely ever hears.

Ultimately, most combine results prior to 2003/2004, when people started following the NFL Draft with religious devotion, are going to be speculative and probably dubious.
