because their are 3 races for the horses, but each of them get longer.
they are also all ran within a 5 week period. so its hard on the horse. Also horses that are good at short sprints, would have a harder time with the longer races at the end.
so it takes super horse with a lot of stamina and a good team to win
Secretariat won the triple crown in 1973. He was the 9th horse to do so in 25 years.
I hope so! He could be the first Triple Crown winner since 1978!
No, only once -- in 1966. He did, however, win two MVPs -- the only person to do so in both leagues.
Winning the Triple Crown in horse racing is challenging because it requires a horse to win three prestigious races - the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes - within a short period of time. The races vary in distance, track conditions, and competition, making it difficult for a horse to excel in all three. Additionally, the physical and mental demands on the horse, as well as the unpredictability of the sport, make achieving the Triple Crown a rare and impressive feat.
The best racer that ever lived, Secretariate.
Only 16 players have won the MLB Triple Crown
i think cena should win so the triple h ,randy orton fued will end
They are 3 years old. All horses are officially a year older every January 1st. So, regardless of the date of their birth, the Triple Crown races are for 3 year olds.
yes, you can but its hard so becareful!
Few individuals have dominated their sport as Secretariatdid, so it is only fitting that the Triple Crown winning horse was named the Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Year in 1973.
Ted Williams and Rogers Hornsby are the only players to achieve two MLB "Triple Crown" titles, so Ted is the only Red Sox player to do so twice. The only other Red Sox player to do so even once was Carl Yastrzemski, who did so in 1967.
he was close but so are sooo many other racehorses nominated for the triple crown just look at big brown. what sucks is breeders of racehorses breed for speed not sturdyness so since the triple crown races are so close together to where the racehorses arn't used to running in races so close together they get tired and can't win the whole thing and in Barbaro's case since he wasnt bred to be sturdy his body couldn't hold up to it so he broke down. Its sad but true. that entire answer above me is wrong. Barbaro was not close to winning because he did not finish the preakness and it is not because of him being "sturdy" or whatever they think somehow when he did a false start it triggered something in his ankle and pastern......he did not break down because he was not "sturdy" he took a bad step and there is no such thing as breeding horses to be sturdy so they don't break down thoroughbreds are very light and thin on the track they get tired because of distance and jockeys letting the horses blow out the first few furlongs. Barbaro just had a bad start at the Preakness Stakes but in my opinion as the class of Barbaro if that accident didn't happen he would have swept the Triple Crown Championship because that horse has a lot of heart and courage to win.
