It affects the economy possitively (well it should like most sports) because as Economic theory(s) tell us. The more people the spend, the more it helps economic growth and expansion.

Superbowl / other sports encourage economic growth however it may increase the chance of there being another recession. Handy fact going around, something like this, 40% of Americas wealth is owned by 2% of the population. So as we feed money into Superbowl or whatever. This increases the wealth gap and can lead to a recession. (what we believe is starting now)

We've had a few recessions before shoudn't be too bad, I think the government should tax the big companies / big sharks more so it's easier for the actual society.
