Fighters that couldn't make it in boxing, go to the UFC. UFC fighters are way to slow for a boxer. A UFC fighter wouldn't be able to catch a boxer. Compare a 150 pound UFC fighter to Floyd Mayweather Jr. That wouldn't even be a fight. Floyd will kill him. Plus boxers go 12 rounds and in the UFC u only go 3 or sometimes 5. And boxers have more knockouts even with the gloves that they wear. There is barely any padding in a UFC glove, whereas there is a lot of padding in a boxers glove. You can't even compare the two. A boxer will dominate a UFC fighter.
that is the biggest load i have ever herd boxers only use there hands and they have sorter rounds no boxer would beat a ufc fighter i have done both boxing and ufc. ufc is so much more intesnce its cazy, boxers only have protect there head when a ufc fighter has to protect everything. i cant berlive that answer oh my god boxing is so soft and all they do is hug, ufc has way more knockouts. boxing is so boring now 1 tiny cut and its over its so soft. so everyone ufc is so much better then boxing.
the second answer is total trash , there are people who are like late 30s and early 40s in ufc, any old man who learns bjj or muay thai can be a ufc fighter. and boxers only have to protect their head u must be retarted, the body , and they hug because the y go 10-12 round while the max for ufc is ummmmmm..... 5. they got no stamina they only focus on power. boxers actually have to use skill timing an accuracy while in the ufc anybody can brawl and win, look at kimbo slice
Hahaha, all these answers are biased trash. Its all about preference, if you like to see athletes use only their hands then watch boxing, if you like variety give MMA(ufc is an organization not a sport) a try. Many people like both and in the end its what ever you find the most aesthetically pleasing. BTW, MMA rounds are 5 minutes as opposed to 3 minutes and are more grueling than boxing rounds wich contain no grappling or extensive clinch work. Boxers(including James Toney, butter bean, and art jimmerson) have attempted MMA and at the UFC level lost without landing a single punch, yet MMA competitors such as KJ Noons have extensive and successful professional boxing records. Freddie Roach has commended many mixed martial artists(such as BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, GSP) and stated that if they focused on it could easily be pro boxers. And because of the variety in MMA older fighters are able to compete because its not soley speed and reaction like boxing is, btw james toney held a title while over 40 so check your facts folks :). And if you think MMA fighters lack stamina you obviously do not watch the sport and have no right to make analyzations. P.S.-Kimbo Slice has a 4-2 record in MMA going 1-1 in the UFC, but has a perfect 5-0 pro boxing record
Which one is "better" is just a matter of preference. It's silly to argue one way or the other; the boxer would win in a boxing match, the MMA fighter would win in an MMA match. In fact, it's already been put to the test. Randy Couture took care of James Toney in short order in an MMA match. Likewise, in a boxing match, Ray Mercer destroyed Tim Sylvia in the same short order that Kimbo Slice dispatched Mercer in the octagon...and Slice wasn't even a world class MMA fighter.
If you're asking who would win in a street fight, the MMA fighter would have a sizeable advantage. It comes down to defense more than anything; an MMA fighter may not be as skilled as a boxer at defending against punches, but the boxer is going to have no idea how to defend himself against the arsenal the MMA fighter is going to throw at him.
No. Boxing only allows pushes, Wrestling is more based around grapping and gaining control over your opponent.
Sumo wrestling and judo are two very different sports. While there are similarities, particularly in that one of the objects is to get your opponent on the ground, they have distinctly different rules and training regimes.
