Flexibility in Taekwondo is the similar to flexibility in any other athletic endeavor; the ability to fluidly move joints through their full range of motion. Most Martial Artists stretch their muscles, ligaments, and tendons for both the ability to perform physically demanding techniques of self defense, and to prevent injury when an opponent or attacker applies potentially dangerous holds to them which could cause damage if not flexible.
For Taekwondo specifically, flexibility and agility of the leg muscles, and hip sockets is most important since the primary weapon is kicking. While many public demonstrations show the high kicks of Taekwondo, and the increased flexibility aids in this, that is not the main purpose for flexibility in Taekwondo. The real reason for stretching the leg muscles is for longer reach horizontally, and making body level kicks easier to do without strain or resistance from tight muscles. If you can kick head level with ease, then kicking the body, groin or knee should be virtually effortless.
Karate is a form of exercise, which is beneficial to health. It promotes strength, balance, stamina and flexibility.
I would say it does because both sports focus on flexibility and strength and by doing gymnastics it will make karate easier.
Well, to be good at karate, you need good core strength and a fair amount of flexibility, but if you don't, it doesn't matter as you improve these in lessons. It's also important to have good stamina (and attention span!), as you need to be able to keep going when doing a lot of dynamic activities like jumping kicks :D
You don't need physcal requiremants in karate. Karate is a place to learn not qualify.
No, golf does not need flexibility. More on your arm's strength.
Flexibility has to do with gymnastics a great deal for example a front walkover you need back flexibility and leg flexibility just for one simple skill.
You need karate the most when your in middle school or high schools that way you dont get into drugs and bad things or be around bad influences!

To begin, you simply need to have the ability to move. As you progress in your training, you will get in better fitness and more flexibility. My style does not require you be very flexible and would never require you to kick above waist high. In some styles they want you to be able to kick very high over your head (necessary for combats) and have a healthy hearth because in karate you have to do cardio exercises.
Like all physical activity, it improves your overall strength. The activity reduces stress, build muscle, improves flexibility and helps balance.
The footing can have an effect on the height. A solid base is critical to any kick. The flexibility of the kicker is going to have a larger affect.
