Yes. Fleer A manufacturer of sports cards, produced baseball cards from 1959 to 1963, as well as several football sets and a single basketball set in this same era. In 1981, the company once again began production and was a leading manufacturer in the market. Fleer was bought by Rite-Aid pharmacy founder Alex Grass and his son in 1999. Upper Deck purchased the Fleer name and its die-cast toy business in 2005 for $6.1 million dollars. Fleer at the time was reported to be $40 million in debt.

They issued their first basketball set in 1961. The 1961-62 Fleer set includes the rookie cards of many HOF'ers, most notably Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlin, Walt Bellamy, Hal Greer, K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, and Oscar Robertson. They didn't release another set until the landmark 1986-87 Fleer set which includes the rookie card of Michael Jordan.
