What does a coach do?

i'm a soccer player so i know alot but maybe not everything. coaches should instruct the players, come up with plays, make drills, and things to that extent. the assistant coach does its name assist the coach with all of that.

Softball coaches teach the game, many times to benefit their daughters, and friends of daughters, but usually with the best intentions. Good coaches like in any sport teach the fundamentals of the game as well as striving for teamwork, responsibility and hustle. The best of coaches get the most out of each player, not every girl has the same skill set, some are blessed with speed, some are great hitters, superior fielders and hustlers. A great coach, motivates, disciplines, enforces teamwork, challenges, and accepts only 100% from his/her players. If I had a team of players who after playing with me offered just 100% effort, then and only then can I be a great coach.
