This drastic change in height could be due to the punishing hits a running back takes, especially over a long career like his. Most RB's lose an inch in their first year or two. His weight was always around 200-210 lbs. Also his son measured in at 6' 2'' in college so it's not crazy to think Walter was even taller than that.
