Friday (or Thursday at Monaco): Two hour-and-a-half practice sessions (Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2)Saturday: One hour long practice session (Free Practice 3)One 20 minute qualifying session (Qualifying 1) where all 24 cars drive around as fast as they can. The slowest 7 are eliminated and their grid positions are locked in.One 15 minute qualifying session (Qualifying 2) where the remaining 17 cars drive around as fast a they can. Once again, the slowest 7 are eliminated.One 10 minute qualifying session (Qualifying 3) where the remaining 10 cars battle for pole position - known as the "top ten shoot out".Sunday: Race dayThe qualifying order may change depending on penalties.

There was no formula one races in the year 1951 and hence there was no Monaco GP in the year 1951 and 1952. But it has been a part of the formula one season every year since 1955.
