Soccer or as it is known in Europe, football. The French soccer team made it to the finals of the soccer world cup a couple of years ago in 2008 only to lose to Italy. After that the French soccer team collapsed in result of many of their star players retiring. In the last soccer world cup France lost in the first stage because the new players had not had a lot of experience. France are now finally rebuilding their team.

Soccer has many benefits for children at a young age. From the physical aspects, soccer is primarly running and at the least walking. This cardio workout works the heart and lower muscles. As the kids get older, this fitness develops into not only the lower body, but the core and upper body. Socially, soccer also has benefits, in the sense that it is teaching kids to communicate and interact with others. Not only this, but how to work as a team to complete a common goal.
Actually, many people all around the world participate in soccer. From small kids kicking around a toilet roll, to professional teams and players knocking an actual ball around. Anyone anywhere can play, really. Have fun!
