Babe Ruth. The first MLB All-Star Game was held on July 6, 1933, at Comiskey Park in Chicago, which was the home of the White Sox at the time (and remained so until 1990). Ruth hit a home run in the third inning of the game, also bringing in Charlie Gehringer, who had been walked, and giving the American League team a 3-0 lead. Frankie Frisch hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for the National League team, becoming the second player to hit a home run in an All-Star Game. The American League went on to win the game 4-2.
