Im not sure when it officialy became a sport. it used to be a fightiong technique. Indians would take rocks and put them in their versions of Lacrosse sticks and hit there enemy with them. I"m guessing after "white man" discovered it, we began to use there war technique for recreational purpose which over the years became a sport

Yes I have a friend that plays lacrosse and he got a scholarship to colledge through lacrosse, and because lacrosse isn't as popular as football, soccer, baseball etc. then you should be able to get a scholarship easier.
