Shotokan uses a purple belt, though i am not sure how many dan levels they have. shouldn't be too hard to figure out tho.
Anyone can do martial arts if they have the physical ability, In my karate school we have a kid with downsyndrom who is a purple belt and only needs two more belts to become black. So practically anyone can do martial arts.

in Brazilian jiu jitsu the general belt process is: white blue purple brown black. some schools have more belts depending on their curriculum but those are rare. jj is not a martial art you can just get a black belt in a year from like tae kwon do, karate, etc. it takes years of practice, dedication, and repetition. not only does your skill level in your jiu jitsu knowledge need to evolve but so does your character in order to advance in the belts. leave your ego at the door!
