It depends - are you a slapper, a power hitter, do you have slow bat speed or fast bat speed. The answers may be balanced, end-loaded, light drops (-11, -12). There is a great site - www.thecoachreviews.com - that reviews the Best Fastpitch Softball Bats. It also provides reviews from Players, Coaches and Parents. no, they can not, but some umpires will not notice.
Anderson bats are the best in my mind.....I have coached for 25 years and the girls who are relatively strong with quick hands destroy softballs.....at the same time, it is alot of bat for girls who are not very strong. It depends - are you a slapper, a power hitter, do you have slow bat speed or fast bat speed. No, in no level of softball or baseball can you use your helment or hat to catch a ball
yes there is a difference because a major league baseball bat is wood and a girls are metal. also i minor leagues girls say softball and boys say baseball. once my friend was using a baseball bat and was hitting better. in softball you can not use a baseball bat! ---- never use a baseball bat in softball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no, mitts are only allow on the field at first base and catchers positions.
Yes you can.
This is a tough question to answer. A softball bat is a very personal thing. It depends on how old you are, how tall you are, and how strong you are. Let me start by stating that the right softball bat is one you can swing! In fastpitch softball it is all about bat speed. The heaviest bat you can swing at FULL speed is the right bat. There are two measurements for a bat. 1) Length, 2)Weight. Weight can be anywhere from 18oz to 24oz. Length may be from 24" to 34". A 5-7 year old may use a 24" bat. While an 18 year old may use an 34" bat. There is one more measurement that you will see. The Weight-Length value. For example, a 20" bat that weights 30oz is a -10. Bats that are -10, -11, and -12 are very popular.
If you are going to compete in an organized sporting event, then it is not legal. If you are going to roll your bat, make sure you keep it for your personal home use. See the related link below for the clarifications from the Armature Softball Association of America. Every Sanction of baseball, fastpitch, little league and slopitch softball has an "alteration" or "modification rule except for the ISA in slowpitch soft ball they cleary state it is illegal. Try Batrolling4u.com... I've had great luck with them
yes
No. It is very rare to use anything but a composite bat.
Softball bats are designed to hit softballs. Hitting a baseball with a softball bat may damage the bat. Either hit a softball or get a baseball bat if you do not want to risk damaging your bat.
yes but when some people swing the bat to hard it breaks
