My son is currenlty 11Years & 11 Months old- 3 weeks away from turning 12. He plays competative soccer out of Miami/FL - Center Back Sweeper position which physically a requires a big & fast player. He is currently 5'4.25" & 120lbs.
Best 40 Yard Dash Time: 5.30 (ran 3/19/11)...will time again after he turns 12. We work alot on Speed Agility & Explosive Quickness Drills along with specific Speed Drills once per week in addition to Soccer training at his Club. To build speed you need to work on speed specific drills. The more you sprint the faster you will be. Isometics also are very good for speed training...enhancement...anyone interested should look into that as well.
Run Fast!
If your in good shape, a 5'7 would be a great time. anything under 6 is to be proud of. and remember. Its all about acceleration in a 40.
My brother dane is 8 and he ran it in a 5.94 but he is really fast. I am 11 and i ran it in 5.17
4.6 or 4.7 would be fast
don't listen to that guy.
6.4 would be average, 6.2 would be good, and 5.9 would be hella fast.
15 sec is a very good time.
2 seconds if fast....
Pretty fast, but depends on how developed you are. If you are already a MAN then its okay..
My son is ten and ran it in 4.78 seconds
6.6 seconds is considered below average for a 40 yard dash for a 12 year old boy. To improve this I would just practice sprints and do leg workouts such as squats.
about 60 seconds.
A 10 yard dash time is really not a good judge of your speed, the distance is too short. A 40 yard dash is what you need to get a good estimate of your abilities. but I'll give you time for both 40 yard dash-between 5-5.8 seconds 10 yard dash-between 1.3-1.5 seconds
My 2-year-old son ran the 40 in 15.75 seconds at the NFL Experience. He's pretty big and coordinated for his age, but I have no idea if that's fast or slow. He was laughing at the finish line, so that's all that matters.
For a 12 year old boy, 6.82 seconds is the average time for a 40 yard dash. The fastest time posted is 6.13 seconds.
There are no records or data kept for this activity, and therefore also no sample from which to compute an average.
I ran a 4.98 40 so i donβt know if thatβs the record
14 seconds
I do not know. But when i was twelve, I ran a 100meter dash in about 12, 13 seconds. Is that good?
My 11 year old just ran 50 yards in 6.9 seconds in two consecutive attempts in the from yard. Distance was marked off with a 150-foot tape measure.
