A baselayer is a tight undergarment worn under clothes to strengthen muscles and provide compression.
Wearing a skin baselayer during outdoor activities provides benefits such as moisture-wicking, temperature regulation, and improved comfort. The baselayer helps to keep the skin dry by moving sweat away from the body, regulates body temperature by providing insulation, and enhances overall comfort during physical activities.

It depends on what you're looking for, and the temperature. If its really cold, Under Armour is always a good thing, and hand and foot warmers are a plus too. There is also ski goggles, ski gloves (if you ski where there are tow-ropes, make sure you have glove protectors, too. Even if the gloves have protection on them, the tow-rope will still eat away at it and make a hole.) Also, snow pants and a hat are a pretty good idea. Coat too. Thermal socks can help, especially since ski boots aren't exactly heated. Make sure the brand is reliable, as with almost everything, you get what you pay for. One of the best materials for the baselayer is merino wool, one good brand is Icebreakers, but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it. I have it and it is wonderful but I paid about $100 a piece. Snow pants are required, ski specific socks are a must because they must come up to just under your knees and they must wick away moisture and they must not wrinkle in your boots. Helmets are also extremely important, some ski resorts won't let you take lessons without them, which, if you've never skied before is also important, to take a lesson.
